Bee Medicine

Bee Medicine At Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital

Honeybees are an important food producing species that require special husbandry and care. Many beekeepers struggle with Varroa mites, death of colonies, and loss of colonies during the winter. We would like to help keep this vital species healthy and slow preventable losses. We respect that many beekeepers are well versed and knowledgeable. We aim to be a helping hand in making beekeeping better.

Like other species, before a veterinarian can provide advice or medications, an annual exam must be done. We will require yearly bee yard visits to write prescriptions, veterinary feed directives, give advice, or complete any testing.

To schedule a visit – please email Dr. Fitzpatrick at m.fitzpatrick@salmonbrookvets.com. An annual history form will need to be completed, and scheduling will be done after the form is received.
