A happy cat is a healthy cat! An annual veterinary exam is an important piece of your cat’s wellness care. Regular wellness exams can detect potential health problems your cat may be experiencing. To assure a longer and highest quality of life for your cat, bring your cat to us for a wellness exam at least annually [older pets or those with health problems may need more frequent exams].
Your observations at home are important too. Write down a list of questions or concerns and bring them with you to your cat’s exam. Your cat’s wellness exam is an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns you have about your cat’s health with us. We encourage discussions about your cat at home, including mobility issues, bad breath, behavior issues, lifestyle or age related changes. Our veterinarians’ expertise is at your disposal. At Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital, we look forward to discussing all aspects of your pet’s medical, nutritional, emotional and behavioral health with you.

Diagnostic Services/Medical/Surgical Management
If your cat experiences an illness or injury, we can treat your cat in our hospital. You and your pet will be comfortable with your regular veterinarian while receiving specialized care. For more information about any of these services, please click on the service:
Diagnostic services: We utilize state of the art digital radiography (x-ray) equipment, which provides quicker, clearer and faster images than film x-ray. Like a digital photo, a digital radiograph can be manipulated after it is taken, allowing our tem to highlight the image in ways that are not possible with traditional film x-ray. All of our x-rays are evaluated by a board certified radiologist within 24 hours.
Medical Management: If your cat has been diagnosed with a chronic condition (for example diabetes or hypothyroidism) we will perform the routine monitoring that is needed to keep your cat healthy. We can make diet recommendations, changes in medications and treatments, and consult with a board-certified specialist if your cat not responding appropriately to the treatments.
Surgical Management: We have experience and a state of the art hospital to perform most types of cat surgery. We tailor our anesthetic protocol for your cat’s specific needs to ensure a safe outcome.
